Say goodbye to endless Google searches, and hello to personalized guidance and reassurance whenever you need it. Whether it's a late-night worry or a pressing question, I've been there! Even if it's outside my area of expertise, I have the relationships and resources available to get you what you need, when you need it.
This session usually lasts 2 hours and gives us a chance to go through the Giant List of Birth Options. You have a lot of choices when it comes to your birth! This is the perfect way to figure out what would work best for you and what back-up plans can be put in place. It also ensures that we are all on the same page and ready for your birth.
This session is customizable, and we can use our 2 hours together to do anything you'd like. Most commonly, we will use this time for postpartum planning and breastfeeding education. Other options could include attending a care provider appointment together to discuss the birth options you previously selected, hosting a nesting party, completing a BodyReadyMethod Assessment to prepare your body for labor, or a private birth education class.
During this visit, we will go through what to expect during labor step-by-step, practice coping strategies with ice "contractions," try out different labor positions, talk through what advocacy can look like in the delivery, and figure out a code word/symbol you may use to send me or your partner signals.
From the time that you decide you need me, until about 1-2 hours after your birth, I will be with you! This typically looks like me coming to your home first to support you through some early labor contractions, transferring to your place of birth together (in our own cars), supporting you through the birth, and then staying until after baby's first feeding. Whether your labor takes 4 hours or 34 hours, I will be by your side as much as you'd like.
About 24 hours after birth, I will stop by to check on you, wherever you happen to be. This visit can be between 15 minutes - 1 hour. I can bring food, help with breastfeeding, and make sure you're feeling as comfortable and loved as possible.
This visit typically takes place about 1 week after birth and can last up to 2 hours. It can be incredibly beneficial for you to share your birth story and let out all the details you may not want to share with others. Of course I was there, but this creates a safe space to talk about anything you need to talk about. I am also available to answer questions, help with feeding, refill your water, and/or even start a load of laundry!
Let's get to know each other! Initial consultations are completely free and can be done in person or on video chat. It's the perfect opportunity to determine if I would be the right fit to serve you and if so, what package will fit YOUR needs best. I would be honored to support you on your journey and answer any questions you may have!
